Meet the Carschooling Expert
Diane Flynn Keith
Before she became a carschooling expert, Diane Flynn Keith was a busy mom with a pair of antsy kids in the car. Now, Diane’s sons are grown, and she is an internationally recognized voice in education outside the traditional classroom walls.
When she and her husband, Cliff, decided to homeschool their two sons in 1992, there was a void of information. She quickly sought out the few pioneers and, as she acquired resources and information, she began publishing Homefires – The Journal of Homeschooling. The magazine grew to include subscribers across the U.S. and Canada, Great Britain, Australia, and even the Federated States of Micronesia. Eventually, Diane turned the magazine into an online publication at Homefires.com.
She has encouraged thousands of homeschool families by writing for The Link Homeschool Magazine, Home Education Magazine, and dozens of other homeschool and parenting publications. She has contributed to these books: The Homeschooling Almanac, The California Homeschool Guide, The Ultimate Book of Homeschooling Ideas, and Homeschooling Styles. Diane is also the author of the rave-reviewed eBook, “Learning with Little Lulu Lemon” available at www.LittleLuluLemon.com.
Ms. Keith is a popular speaker at education conferences throughout the U.S. where she often presents her Carschooling Workshop. She has been a distinguished presenter at professional development seminars for teachers in public school home study programs in California. Since 1998, she has been a regular guest speaker at Child Parent Relations classes at Skyline College in the San Francisco Bay Area, and she is the instructor of “Homeschool 101” classes at the College of San Mateo. She has testified in court as a Homeschool Expert Witness.
