Most children really enjoy using a camera and taking pictures. Have them keep their very own photographic journal of your carschooling adventures. Digital cameras are great fun because you can see how the picture looks instantly. Let carschoolers take turns photographing interesting things along the way. They will learn quickly how to adjust the way they hold the camera and where to position themselves for the best light and distance to get a really good picture.
Once you’ve collected enough photos in a theme have your carschooler assemble a photo journal. You can do it the old-fashioned way by purchasing an inexpensive photo album and gluing the photos in directly, or you can use a computer program (such as iPhoto, Picasa, or Shutterfly) to create and order an album. Either way let your children use their imagination to tell a story using the photos they took. Be sure to have them consider the placement of each picture and the meaning behind it.
They will have fun reminiscing about the journeys they took and it will teach them to view everyday objects and places more carefully and artistically.
