Carschooling Language Arts: I'm Going to a Tailgate Party

This game starts simply but gets more difficult with each player’s turn. The first player starts by saying, “I’m going to a tailgate party, and I’m bringing _______________.” The object the player picks must start with the letter A (for example, apples). The second player then says, “I’m going to a tailgate party, and I’m bringing _______________ (whatever the first player said) and _______________  (an object that starts with the letter B).” Play continues with each player repeating what the previous players said, then adding a new object beginning with the next letter of the alphabet. A player who needs to use the letter F might say, “I’m going to a tailgate party and I’m bringing apples, bread, carrots, dishes, eggs, and forks.” If a player forgets to list an item mentioned by other players, the player drops out of the game. Play continues until only one player who can remember the entire list without any mistakes is left – that’s the winner!
